Teams

The 2010 Scott 24 Hours of Adrenalin Australian 24 Hour Mountain Bike Championships is a teams race only. There are no solos in the event this year. Nominal team sizes are 2, 3, 4, 6, 8 and 10.

Schools Teams (8)

All riders in a Schools category team must have been enrolled and attended a secondary school at some time during the 2010 calendar year, must be aged between 14 and 18 (inclusive) on 9 October 2010, and do not all have to be from the same school. The special young rider provisions do apply to Schools Teams. See that section for how to apply for a rider who is aged 12 or 13.

A nominated parent or teacher for each school team must be at the race site for the duration of the race and must be contactable on the mobile phone number provided with race entry.

The school team size is nominally 8 riders, however school teams can be between 6 and 8 riders.

Corporate

The corporate team entry is the cost for the riders only. If a corporate team requires a team marquee close to the transition area, that must be hired separately within the online entry system.

If you have purchased a corporate entry, plus a team or expo marquee, then you can split your corporate team up into 4/6, or 4/4/2, or 4/3/3. Email timing@corc.asn.au for more details.

Categories and Fees

Subject to your age, you will be able to ride in any of these categories. Riders can only enter in one team. All costs include GST.

Rider Age

All ages for the team categories are calculated using the rider’s age on 9 October 2010.

To be in a 40+ team, the average age of the riders in the team must be 40+ on 9 October 2010. In working out the average age, decimals are taken into account (so I would contribute 52.76 years to the total, not 52.This means that some riders in the team can be under 40, and we have had ‘Father and Son’ combos in this category before. If a team has only 5 riders in the T6 40+ category, then it is the average age of the 5 riders, not their total ages divided by 6, that counts.

Young Rider Rules

The minimum age for team riders is 14 however CORC may accept riders aged 12 or 13 at the sole discretion of the Race Director subject to the following criteria:

The rider’s race/riding history must be submitted to the Race Director by 11th August 2010.   If the riders has a qualified Coach, then a letter from the Coach should also be submitted.

The Race Director may require the rider to be taken on a test ride by their local MTBA affiliated mountain bike club, and a report on the rider be submitted to the Race Director.

They can only ride in the team of 6, 8 or 10 categories.

The rider may be limited to what laps they are allowed to ride. Some examples might be: cannot ride the first lap of the race, cannot ride night laps, or cannot ride a night lap until they have ridden a day lap.

Applications for a rider aged 12 or 13 should be emailed to timing@corc.asn.au
. Riders under 12 will not be accepted under any circumstances. The Race Director’s decision is final.
