Vehicle Access
Tuesday, October 5, 2010

The following vehicle access rules will apply:

. The park opens for access to camping areas at 1500 on Thursday.
. No event services are guaranteed until 0900 Friday.
. You can use a vehicle to drop off equipment near your site up until 1600 on Friday.   Drop off means unloading the car and then returning the car immediately to the main carpark.   It does not mean leave your car at your campsite while you build your campsite, assemble your bikes etc.
. If you arrive after 1600 Friday, you will be required to park in the event carpark.
. After 1600 Friday, a shuttle service will run from the event carpark using large trailers to assist you getting heavy items into the event.
. Towing vehicles can stay with caravans in the designated caravan areas as long as they fit within the boundaries of your allocated van site.   But, once in, they are in until 1600 Sunday.   If you want to use your car during the event, then return it to the main carpark after you have dropped the caravan off.

After the event is over, from 1400 Sunday from the camping area and from 1600 Sunday for the Crit Track and Caravan areas, there will be two exit routes from the event:
. One is to the north via the normal Stromlo Forest Park entry/exit.
. The other will be to the south using firetrails to bring you out onto Stromlo Road near the Cotter Road intersection.   This is the best way for riders heading into South Canberra, or east along Hindmarsh Drive to join the Monaro Highway.
. Remember, just because you have finished your race does not mean that everyone's race is finished.   For this reason, no exit routes which involve crossing the course will be opened until after the last rider has finished the race.
